Biography
Jeff Drake is a partner in the firm's Venture Capital and Corporate Services Practice Area Teams with broad experience in securities, M&A, and commercial transactions in a variety of industries, particularly emerging growth, IT, software and digital media. His venture capital experience includes company-side and investor-side deals in both early stage and later rounds. In addition, Jeff advises acquirers, targets and major shareholders in M&A transactions and has helped guide a number of companies through their initial public offering. He has also advised public companies regarding their reporting and other obligations under the securities laws. Jeff is active in the California State Bar and is currently a co-chair of the Corporations Committee of the Business Law Section.
In addition to his transactional experience, Jeff has litigated in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate level, and has represented clients in a variety of mediation and arbitration settings. He has also counseled clients regarding regulatory actions involving state and federal agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice.
Before practicing law, Jeff conducted research in the computer modeling of composite materials and published several technical papers, including two in the peer-reviewed Journal of Applied Physics.
