Biography
Ms. Spasser leads LeClair Ryan’s Media, Internet and E-Commerce Industry Team. She focuses her practice on the areas of content licensing and distribution, technology development and licensing, the provision of cloud computing and hosted services, and trademark licensing. She also counsels clients on privacy and data security issues, Web 2.0 and beyond, and communications and consumer-protection law and regulation.
Ms. Spasser’s clients include large, national media and Internet companies, financial institutions and emerging growth companies. Ms. Spasser serves as outside general counsel to a number of emerging companies involved in software development, the Internet, Web-based applications, medical information technology and content development and distribution. Based on her experience as in-house counsel for over seven years, Ms. Spasser takes a business-focused approach to her practice and strives to provide practical solutions that drive positive results for her clients.
Ms. Spasser frequently lectures on and is interviewed about legal issues relating to privacy and data security, cloud computing and hosted services, Web 2.0 and social networking, and tactical and strategic approaches to technology licensing and acquisition.
