Key Issues in Labor and Employment Law

Oct 15 event dealt with separation agreements, disabilities law, Web usage at work and more.

Legal challenges associated with labor and employment are as timely as today’s headlines. When employees fritter away hours or spread office gossip on Facebook and Twitter, how should their supervisors respond? When a global recession leads to successive rounds of layoffs, how can businesses draft the most effective separation and severance agreements? Attorneys from LeClairRyan’s Labor & Employment Group explored these issues in a half-day seminar on Oct. 15.

The annual event, held at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park included presentations by attorneys who are in the forefront of labor and employment law.

Guest speakers included Marlen Bodden, Staff Attorney with the Legal Aid Society of New York and founder of The Employment Law Project, and Judy Keenan, Supervisory Trial Attorney with the New York District Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
