LeClairRyan has been named Virginia State Firm of the Year by Benchmark Litigation for the fourth time. The firm was recognized at the fifth nationwide U.S. Benchmark Litigation Annual Awards banquet on February 16, 2017 at the Essex House on New York’s Central Park South. Elizabeth K. Acee (New Haven), Richard “Deke” Bowerman (New Haven), and Kevin G. Kenneally (Boston) of LeClairRyan accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
“We are honored to receive this award from Benchmark Litigation for the fourth year,” said LeClairRyan CEO C. Erik Gustafson. “We are proud of our exceptional litigation team in Virginia, for whom this recognition is a testament to their unwavering commitment to helping every client achieve their business objectives.”
The results of Benchmark Litigation stem from the culmination of a six-month research period where researchers conduct extensive interviews with litigators and their clients to identify the leading litigators and firms. During these interviews, researchers examine recent casework handled by law firms and ask individual litigators to offer their professional opinions on peers. Recommendations are based on interviews with the nation’s leading private practice lawyers and in-house counsel.
