LeClairRyan Scores in the 95th Percentile in National Corporate Equality Index

The national law firm LeClairRyan received a score of 95 out of 100 on the 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality. The survey is administered annually by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for LGBTQ people.

“LeClairRyan recognizes diversity as a core value of our firm,” Chief Executive Officer C. Erik Gustafson said. “We have worked hard to be more LGBTQ inclusive, among other diversity initiatives, and we are proud to see our CEI rating as a positive reflection of that effort.”

The 2018 CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive healthcare benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. LeClairRyan’s score reflects a commitment to LGBTQ workplace equality, with respect to tangible policies, benefits and practices.

LeClairRyan’s commitment to diversity includes a range of initiatives applied within the firm, the legal profession and the community. LeClairRyan’s Diversity Leadership Committee promotes inclusivity in all aspects of the firm, and the firm regularly supports community and professional organizations engaged in making society more equal.
