LeClairRyan Attorney Honored by Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey

LeClairRyan attorney Karol Corbin Walker was recognized with the “People Who Make a Difference Award” at Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey’s 90th anniversary gala celebration, held October 24 at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange.

Walker, a LeClairRyan member who focuses her practice on business; commercial; employment; environmental; toxic tort, and products liability litigation, has long provided legal counsel to Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey (PPMNJ).

“Karol Corbin Walker’s support and counsel over the years has helped us to champion women’s health and reproductive rights throughout Essex, Hudson and Passaic Counties,” PPMNJ President and CEO Roslyn Y. Rogers Collins said in a statement. “This has made a significant difference in the lives of many.”

The People Who Make a Difference Award is given to those who have helped advance PPMNJ’s mission. Past recipients have included Governor Christine Todd Whitman and Senator Cory Booker.

“It is an honor to be recognized by an organization whose work I hold in the highest regard,” Walker said. “One of the great pleasures in working as an attorney is to pursue justice for worthy causes, and Planned Parenthood is making a difference for all women every day. It is a privilege to contribute to its mission.”

Walker joined LeClairRyan in 2007, and currently serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. She has previously served as a member of the New Jersey State Ethics Commission, and became the first African American president of the New Jersey State Bar Association in its 105-year history in 2003.
