Feature Friday - Rod Adams


Today we have the great pleasure of introducing you to one of our members of both the Litigation & Risk Management and Physician Issues Interests Groups, Rod Adams.

Rod teaches medical ethics / healthcare law at University of Richmond Law School and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Department of Health Administration and medical trial practice at the College of William & Mary Law School. In April 2017, he was awarded the Outstanding Educator Award by the VCU MHA Class of 2018. Previously, he has taught health law at Kent College of Law, Chicago. Rod graduated from Millikin University (BA); the University of Glasgow, Scotland (LLM in Forensic Medicine); and the University of Illinois College of Law (JD).

Rod continues his practice as a healthcare attorney at LeClairRyan in Richmond advising and defending health care providers for over thirty years. Rod has a unique niche in patient care issues and has published two books on various aspects of the topic. For more than five years, he co-chaired an American Bar Association subcommittee on medical ethics.
