LeClairRyan Attorney Rod Adams Receives VCU Teaching Award

LeClairRyan attorney Rod Adams, who teaches Bioethics and Healthcare Law at Virginia Commonwealth University, recently received the Dennis Pointer Award at the Master of Science in Health Administration spring commencement ceremony.

The Dennis Pointer Award is offered annually, “in recognition of an outstanding educator who, through example in the classroom and online, has demonstrated exceptional dedication and genuine concern for the development of critical thinking and learning skills of the MSHA students.”

Dr. Cindy A. Watts, Richard M. Bracken Chair and Chairman of the Department of Health Administration, made special note in the department’s pride in Adams’ connection to his students.

“The MSHA students selected Rod to receive the Dennis Pointer teaching award to honor how he engaged and challenged them, always ‘pointing’ their thinking in the right direction,” Dr. Watts said.

As leader of LeClairRyan’s Professional Liability Team, Adams supports the firm’s attorneys across the United States who defend and counsel accountants, attorneys, architects, engineers, directors, officers, healthcare providers and other professionals.
