Wolf Argues First Amendment Case to State Supreme Court

On June 4, 2008, LeClairRyan's Thomas Wolf appeared before the Virginia Supreme Court in a rare rehearing of that court's earlier decision. Wolf argued for reversal of the 2004 conviction of Jeremy Jaynes for violations of Virginia's 2003 Anti-Spam Act. The appeal challenges the Virginia law as unconstitutionally overbroad because it infringes on the First Amendment right to send anonymous non-commercial email. The Court originally upheld the Loudoun County felony conviction.
